Description
This is our new Royall 198 special all solid wood singlecone cutaway. This model is our take on the fabled 1928-1929 National Triolian. For only the first year of production the Triolian came with a wood body and sound well. After 1929 all Triolians had either 2 or 3 piece metal bodies. Those first year models are highly coveted for their unique sound.
The original 1929 Triolians were usually painted a solid yellow color as were the later metal body ones. Our Royall special 198 lets the natural Sapele mahogany wood grain show through our vintage distressed and matte finishes. Triolians have a body size somewhere between a parlor size and a full sized Duolian body. Our new body shape for this model adds a bit more bottom end to the instrument, and using all solid tonewoods will add to the all around clarity of sound.
We are sure you will love the new tone from Royall Resonators. All of our resonators go through a 20 point inspection by our skilled guitar techs before shipment. After inspection, and or adjustment, we double polish the frets, condition the fingerboard, stretch the strings, and tune to pitch. Giving you a wonderfully smooth action and playability right out of the box.
All of the resonators we make in our shop have their own individual character. With different relic looks for the same finish, or the dark or light fingerboards, we want you to be able to choose the one that best suits your needs. Therefore, all of our resonators are individually photographed with their Royall serial number in the listed tag. The instrument in the numbered listing is the exact one you will receive.
